Technical Consultant: Chris Woodrow
Location: Kazakhstan / Thailand
Chris is the Technical Consultant regarding all construction related matters. He began is career in the Royal Engineers and after a journey of more years than he cares to remember (more than 40 it would appear) he finds himself as a Commissioning Engineer on the Kashagan Project in Kazakhstan. His journey saw him start as hands on construction, both in the army (he’ll admit to destruction there as well), and in the shipyards where he held a boilermakers ticket. Then onwards and upwards. Working on many of the projects in the North Sea, in most of the sectors. The later ones being LASMO J6A compression module hook up as Construction Superintendent, ETAP as Mechanical Completions Superintendent onshore and Project Systems Engineer offshore, Ranger Kyle, Texaco Captain Expansion as Mechanical Completions Manager, then BP Magnus as Construction Manager. Eventually moving further afield to become a Project Manager for Thai Nippon Steel, in Bangkok, on the Yetagun Field Capacity Upgrade. Which “allowed” him to visit many exotic places, not least of these being the Burmese Jungle. I think it is safe to say that he has more depth and breadth of experience within Oil and Gas Construction, both offshore and onshore, than most of the people currently working in it.
