Description

The core purpose of the role is to receive and check RCD (Rotating Control Device) and MPD (Managed Pressure drilling) equipment at rig location, spot and rig up equipment, operate service and maintain equipment, for operations.
*Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
*Pressure test, maintain and operate MPD/RCD equipment in a safe manner as per standard operating procedures.
*Ensure that all preparations have taken place, equipment is fit for use and all pre-installation checks and testing have been carried out.
*Ensure all required onsite spares and inventory are in place, record the use of consumables utilised during operations, ensuring that relevant records are forwarded to operations base, allowing suitable time to ship replacement items.
*Ensure that copies of all documentation and certification are available on location and are relative to equipment.
*Communicate MPD/RCD procedures to both company engineers and rig crew.
*Work with and Supervise the on-site rig crew, to ensure correct equipment handling during rig up and rig down of MPD/RCD equipment.
*Maintain appropriate contact with client customer representative at the well site
*Train rig crew on MPD/RCD operations requiring their assistance.
*Ensure equipment in the field is well maintained and compliant with relevant standards.
*Ensure that operations are completed to the full satisfaction of the client.
*Produce all required, RA, PTW, Reports, Handover notes of all MPD/RCD well site activities.
*Provide input on equipment design, selection and upgrading.
*Ensure that all documentation required for operational activities (Passports, work permits, Offshore survival, H2S, medical certificates and appropriate immunisation documents, etc) are up to date and maintained.
Must be computer literate
Must possess a good level of general education of at least Mathematics & English Language
Possess at least 5 years relevant experience in RCD / MPD operations.
Have at least 2 years experience in pressurised mud cap drilling operations.
Have a good knowledge of Rig Systems and Drilling Operations, Well control, along with an understanding of Down-hole Hydraulics
Preferably:
Have an internationally recognised qualification from a Blowout Prevention Course
Have 5 Years oilfield experience as Driller or significant applicable experience gained within the oil and gas sector
